LookDev — Lighting States
Lighting States captures supported attributes from LookDev-created lights or all compatible scene lights, making complete lighting variations easy to save, compare and recall.
What the visible controls do
- State name and Created Lights Only
- Name the snapshot and decide whether the capture is limited to LookDev-created lights or uses the supported broader scene scope.
- Save Current State and Refresh
- Store the current lighting setup with an explicit name, then refresh the saved-state list.
- State A and State B
- Choose two saved looks to evaluate alternatives for the same scene without guessing which setup is active.
- Apply A, Apply B, Toggle A/B
- Recall either saved setup directly or switch between them while reviewing the differences.
- Blend A ↔ B
- Interpolates the supported intensity, Kelvin, and RGB values shown by the comparison workflow.
- Apply, Update From Scene, Rename, Delete
- Manage the selected saved state deliberately after it has been created.
Save and recall
Name a state, choose Created Lights or All Scene Lights, then use Save Current State. Saved states can be applied, updated from the scene, renamed or deleted.
A/B comparison
Assign State A and State B, apply either state, toggle between them, or blend supported intensity, Kelvin and RGB color values with the comparison slider.
States currently live in the LookDev configuration. Keep this limitation in mind when moving a Maya scene to another workstation.
