LookDev — Light Settings
Light Settings scans and manages both LookDev-created lights and compatible lights that already exist in the Maya scene, including supported mesh lights.
What the visible controls do
- Refresh and Scan
- Refresh the light table and choose whether it shows all compatible scene lights or only lights created by the tool.
- Select In Scene
- Synchronizes the table selection with Maya, helping you identify the actual object before changing it.
- Adopt Selected
- Brings a compatible selected scene light into the tool-managed workflow when you intend to manage it from LookDev.
- Light table
- Shows the light, type, source, enabled state, intensity, units, and color so you can review the current scene inventory.
- Delete Selected
- Targets only the currently selected entries rather than clearing the entire light list.
- Delete All Created
- Removes the lights created by LookDev; it is separate from scene-wide management.
Scan and adoption
Switch between Scene (All Lights) and Created (Tool). Adopt Selected tags compatible external scene lights so they can participate in tool-managed workflows.
Selection and organization
Selection is synchronized between Maya and the light table. Rename, group, color-code, select or delete lights using the current scan mode and context menu.
Quick and advanced controls
Edit enabled state, RGB or Kelvin color, intensity, units and Hide In Render. Supported V-Ray lights also expose shape, U/V size, directional controls, Double Sided and diffuse, specular and reflection contribution.
